
The Oshkosh Wisconsin Public Museum is showcasing an exciting fashion exhibition that traces the history of extravagant style from 1860 to 1960. David Wolfe was commissioned to create a paper doll book featuring outfits from the museum's extensive collection. A trio of dolls and 18 costumes are lavishly illustrated in color. Accompanying text by Scott Jorgenson, close-up detail photographs by Bill Krueger. The book begins with a brilliant rose colored hoop-skirt dress and traces the changing effects of bling in fashion.fantastic embroidery early in the 20th century, Jazz Age fringe for flappers and on to fur-trimmed bias satin, lace and tulle and sequins, too.
